She gets excused from the jury for wearing a T-Shirt with the word fuck on it, while the judge get's to stay in the courtroom with a glorified dress on.

I'm not entirely convinced that this is a genuine Fail Shirt of the most egregious order, but the confluence of anorexia, the hot-button aesthetics of body image and the burgeoning media brouhaha push it over the top and into our column. One wonders how this design would have been received if the model wasn't so... waif-ish? Or underaged? Or, most importantly, female? (Malcolm Gladwell's The Tipping Point and its passages on the Power of Context seem particularly apropos right about now...)

PASCAGOULA, Miss. -- An illegal immigrant was wearing an "I'm hiding from the cops" shirt when he was arrested on child molestation charges, authorities said today

William Velasquez Castillo, 27, was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Lucedale late Wednesday evening, Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd said.

Investigators have been searching for Castillo since April 3 when a 10-year-old girl told investigators he molested her in a vehicle in Ocean Springs, Byrd said. Castillo's last known residence was on Derry Street in Ocean Springs, the sheriff added.

A warrant was issued for Castillo on April 23 and detectives believe he fled the area shortly after learning he was wanted by authorities, Byrd said.

Castillo was discovered by authorities at the Dorsett Hotel on Main Street in Lucedale.

"At the time of his capture William Castillo was wearing a T-shirt that stated, 'I'm hiding from the cops.'"

To wit, we present this whopper of a Fail Shirt, which 19-year old Jennifer LaPenta, an Illinois resident, wore to a friend's court hearing. According to The Smoking Gun, 

"LaPenta... ran afoul of Judge Helen Rozenberg, a Circuit Court jurist who handles misdemeanor and traffic cases. A miffed Rozenberg, 56, summoned LaPenta from the gallery, and cited her for contempt of court. The judge then immediately sentenced LaPenta to 48 hours in jail, and had her removed from the courtroom in handcuffs."
One can only wonder how the Judge — apparently taking the motto to heart — might react to this notorious slogan tee, which attentive film buffs will recall from 1985's now-classic Teen Wolf...
